Sharing Makes Hearts Grow
Happy Monday, little friends!
This morning, the Lotus Bamboo Forest was bright and peaceful. The birds were singing, butterflies danced through the flowers, and Lumo was sitting on his favorite mossy rock enjoying a yummy snack of fresh bamboo leaves
.
“These are extra crunchy today!” Lumo smiled.
Just then, Bao the tiny butterfly fluttered by.
“Oh my,” Bao sighed. “I forgot to pack my breakfast.”
Lumo looked at his pile of leaves. He had enough for himself, but if he shared, he would have a little less.
He thought for just a moment.
Then Lumo smiled his warm, gentle smile.
“Come sit with me, Bao. We can share!”
Bao’s little wings fluttered with happiness.
“Really? Thank you, Lumo!”
The two friends laughed, talked, and enjoyed the snack together. Somehow, the leaves tasted even better when they shared them.
Papa Bo watched from nearby and smiled.
“When we share what we have,” he said, “we don’t lose kindness—we grow it.”
Lumo nodded happily.
“I still have enough,” he said. “And now my friend isn’t hungry.”
As the morning breeze danced through the bamboo, both friends felt something wonderful.
Their tummies were happy.
But their hearts were even happier.
