Good morning, little friends!
The Lotus Bamboo Forest was waking up. Dew sparkled on the grass, birds sang cheerful songs, and Lumo stretched with a great big yawn.
As he walked along the garden path, he found his best friend, Mei, carefully watering a patch of tiny lotus flowers.
“Good morning, Mei!” Lumo called with a smile.
“Good morning, Lumo!” Mei replied. “Come see our garden.”
Lumo looked around excitedly.
Some flowers were tall and colorful.
Others were just tiny green buds.
One little flower hadn’t bloomed at all.
Lumo frowned.
“I wish this one would hurry up and bloom.
Mei smiled gently and knelt beside the little bud.
“Not every flower blooms at the same time,” she said softly. “Each one grows when it’s ready.”
Lumo thought about that for a moment.
“So… it’s okay if I’m still learning new things too?”
Mei nodded.
“Of course! Some children learn to read quickly. Others learn to tie their shoes first. Some are great at drawing, while others are wonderful at making friends.”
Lumo’s eyes sparkled behind his rainbow sunglasses.
“We’re all growing in our own special way!”
“Exactly,” Mei said. “And every kind heart has something beautiful to share.”
The two friends gently watered the flowers together.
As the warm morning sun peeked through the bamboo, one tiny bud slowly opened its petals.
Lumo gasped.
“It bloomed!”
Mei smiled.
“It was waiting for the perfect time.”
Lumo grinned.
“Just like us.”
